New Hampshire Name Changes 1838

LAWS OF THE STATE OF NEW HAMPSHIRE
AN ACT to alter the names of certain persons therein mentioned
BE it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in the General Court convened, That from and after the passage of this act, the several persons herein named shall be called and known by the names which by this act they are respectively allowed to assume, viz:

Moses Peaslee Jr. of Newtown may take the name of Moses Barlett Peaslee
George W. Clement of Groton may take the name of George C. Lang
Stephen Leathers of Wolfeborough may take the name of Stephen Meeds
William Harrison Alcock of Deering may take the name of William Harrison Hubbard
Luther McGlosson of Goffstown may take the name of Luther Lyman
Sylvester D. Quint of Lyme may take the name of Sylvester D. Wales
Saphronia Winchell of Somersworth may take the name Saphronia W. Hill
Nathaniel Randall Strattan of Conway may take the name of Nathaniel Randall
Charles Henry Robinson of Dover may take the name of Charles Alex’r Welch
Calvin Ira Cilley of Boscawen may take the name of Calvin Ira Byron
Thomas Haselton 3d of Chester may take the name of Thomas Jefferson Haselton
George Wendall Straw of Tuftonborough may take the name of George Wendall
Salley Straw of Tuftonborough may take the name of Sally Wendall
William Jack son Reid of Chester may take the name of Andrew Jackson Reid
Joseph McKean of Dorchester may take the name of Shafta [?Shasta] Hoyt Boyd
Joshua Jaquith Jr of Washington may take the name of Joshua Lawrence Jaquith
Mary Doton of Sandown may take the name of Mary Page
Ezekiel Flanders 3d of Alton may take the name of Ezekiel H. Flanders
William Holmes of Londonderry may take the name of William Anderson Holmes
Betsey Hogg of Londonderry may take the name of Betsey Dana
Nathaniel Cook of Wakefield may take the name of Nathaniel Huggins Cook
Loring Harvey Frere of Keene may take the name of Benjamin F. Brown
Jonathan Taylor 4th of Sanbornton may take the name of Jonathan S. Taylor
Edwin Putnam Hills of Hudson may take the name of Edwin Putnam Hill
Angelina Hooper of Warren make take the name of Angelina Dow
